Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), also known in short as Norwegian, is a cruise line founded in 1966, incorporated in Bermuda and headquartered in Miami. It is the third-largest cruise line in the world by passengers, controlling about 8.7 % of the total worldwide share of the cruise market by passengers as of 2018. Passenger shipping operations started with one vessel (cruiseferry/combined cruise ship and car ferry) operating on short and cheap Caribbean roundtrips from the USA. When Ted Arison left NCL in 1972 (to establish CCL-Carnival Cruise Lines), Knut Kloster acquired more ships for NCL's Caribbean operations. NCLH corporation's current President and CEO (through 2023) is Frank Del Rio. Cruise ship's drydock conversion cost over USD 100 million, but it was money well spent.
