According to a report by Kazinform, a Kazakhstan-based news agency, a draft agreement on visa waiver between Kazakhstan and China has been made public on a regulatory bill discussion portal on April 12.
The document aims to provide Kazakhstani citizens with visa-free entry into China for short-term stays of up to 30 days, and reciprocally provide Chinese citizens with visa-free entry into Kazakhstan for stays of up to 30 days, and with a maximum total stay of 90 days within a period of 180 days.
The agreement is expected to be signed during Kazakhstan President's state visit to China on May 18-19.
It is worth noting that Kazakhstan has already implemented a 14-day visa-free entry policy for Chinese citizens since July 2022. With China gradually optimizing its entry and exit policies, it is expected that people-to-people exchanges between the two countries will reach new heights. Currently, Kazakhstan and China are engaged in intensive consultations to further facilitate the exchange of people between the two countries.
